Moveable Feast so far
Research
The initial research (The Workshop Interviews) was funded
by Arts Council England and involved interviewing artists from
throughout England in all art forms from The Royal National Theatre
to the local scrapstore. This was backed up by a dissertation
at Exeter University called: Pudding Proof – a Workshop Story.
Dartington
This led to a partnership with the Centre for Creative
Enterprise and Participation at Dartington College of Arts and
the first Feast was run for 42 artists from throughout the South
West region (ACE funded).
And On...
The successes of this event were: new collaborations forged,
work opportunities generated, artists inspired each other’s
work, a network began and insight was gained into new ways of practising.
This formed the foundation for seven more Feasts at Bournemouth
University (2), Falmouth College of Arts, Bristol Multi- A, Blackdown
Hills Rural Partnership and two further Dartington Feasts. A movement
began with contact to over 300 artists from all forms of practice.
Publications
There have been two publications to date:
- Workshop- A Moveable Feast (a book and video)
- A Workshop Handbook – Tools, Tips and Tales c/w The
Golden Fish DVD.
These publications have expounded the findings of the Feasts
to disseminate them to a wider audience.
