The Moveable Feast Company
The Moveable Feast was awarded a grant by CCEP called Proof of
Concept to look at founding an independent company. This process
is nearing completion with a business plan, a website, the support
of several consultants and a core group who have met regularly
to identify the potential of this new and innovative venture.
The company will be a company limited by guarantee and constituted
with directors, a management committee and members. It will be
a non-profit distributing social enterprise that is commercially
viable drawing upon the opportunities from the economy of scale
of several artists joining forces.
The company will continue to run events for artists and extend
its scope to leading Moveable Feasts for teachers, therapists and
commerce. As well, as the foundation services it will provide there
are several big projects that become possible because of the skills
and scale of the artists that can be called upon:
1. The Every Where Centre – this is a residential
cross-art form project with up to 25 artists transforming an institution
looking at the location and specific social needs in a creative
way. This originates from an idea of John Moat’s, co-founder
of the Arvon Foundation.
2. The Field of Workshop – an outdoor participatory arts
space that artists can take time- out to explore and ‘non-artists’ can
come and partake in workshops.
3. The Course – there will be an annual workshop course
aimed at increasing the scope of the services run by the company
and the knowledge and skills of the workshop artists.
4. The Work Shop – this is the multi-functional base for
the company, which would be a place for artists to work (studio,
discussion, experimental space), shop front that sells the work
of artists and an interactive environment where members of the
public can make art led by the artists.
